Shamanic Healing

Shamanic healing addresses the spiritual aspects of physical, emotional or mental illness. It does not replace the need for modern psychological or medical treatment. Shamanic healing focuses on the parts of the illness and suffering that are in the spirit, soul, or energy body of the person. However unlike western medicine, the manner in which a spiritual problem effects the body can vary which means that the way to address the same condition may be totally different from one person to the next.

 Sage Smudge and Feather

I work in partnership with those who come to see me with the aim of seeking out the cause(s) of their problem, address any blocks or ”stuckness” and to help facilitate a new sense of freedom, empowerment and balance as needed for their ongoing healing. This can involve shamanic techniques such as ancestral clearing, soul retrieval and power retrieval, ceremony and ritual.

Be aware however that if you have long term problems or debilitating mental health issues which have lasted for many years, or even decades, please do not think of shamanic healing as a “quick fix”. To avoid disappointment, you should know that a single “one off” appointment will not resolve ongoing historical problems “overnight”. Improvements can and do occur but for long term issues, several sessions are usually required over a period of many months, since multiple spiritual, energetic and psychological factors may be interacting and need to be “unravelled” and individually addressed. Your progress will also depend upon your own willingness and ability to make positive changes in your life. However, recent and less serious problems often improve or can be resolved after just a session or two.

Some examples of when shamanic healing can be helpful are if we;

●  feel that something is lost or “missing”

●  lack confidence

●  have relationship difficulties

●  feel blocked or stuck in recurring patterns

●  have experienced trauma in childhood or at other times

●  sense energy or entity attachments

●  are dealing with depression

●  have unwanted addictions or compulsions

●  experience negative thoughts or conditioning

●  are dealing with grief or loss

●  need support to identify or achieve our aims

●  lack focus or clarity

●  have inexplicable “bad luck”

●  are going through a life transition

●  need knowledge of, or healing for, an illness

A Sunlit Path

Shamanic healing in its various forms has been used for many thousands of years and it is just as relevant for us today. I have experienced it powerfully in my own life and have seen many helped with their own issues, but as with all healing of this kind, we must be ready to allow change into our lives. Please note that shamanic practitioners do not usually diagnose or directly treat specific medical problems. However many seek out shamanic healing simply because allopathic medicine has been unable to resolve their problem or it is not relevant to their condition. I work at the level of soul, spirit and relationship to facilitate healing and wellbeing at a deeper level which may or may not lead to the resolution of a particular physical or mental illness. If you have questions about this, you are welcome to contact me.

We tend to want simple answers to complex problems. Our ego tries to assert control and certainty in our lives, yet we live in a world of impermanence and change. If we make our life choices from a place of fear, or “control” it can lead to difficulties such as frustration, depression, anger or a sense of isolation. The shaman’s role is to help “clear a path” so we begin to see and use our own inner resources for strength and growth. This can give us the confidence to open authentically to our own heart and access our own inner wisdom to make more positive and compassionate choices for ourselves.

Although improvements often become apparent after a single session, usually 2-3 sessions are required for people to begin to experience an increased sense of wellbeing, balance and for sustained improvement.

I always aim to keep the number of sessions to the minimum but for complex issues such as a difficult spirit attachment or psychic attack, several sessions may be needed to achieve full release and to learn appropriate methods of protection. Please also note my comments above regarding serious and long term issues.

Sessions are booked one at a time and an initial session lasts 2 hours and costs £75. Subsequent sessions last 1½ hours and are £60.  There may however, be a limited number of places at a reduced rate for those who are unwaged or who are undergoing financial difficulties so ask if you wish to be considered for this.

If, after reading the above, you feel my approach might be helpful, you are welcome to contact me to discuss your situation without obligation and ask me any questions you may have. If you are a new enquirer I suggest you contact me initially by email so we can arrange an informal telephone conversation.  My details are on the Contact page.

A Visit From Wisdom

In the stillness of night Wisdom came and stood by my bed.  She gazed upon me like a tender mother and wiped away my tears, and said :  "I have heard the cry of your spirit and I am come to comfort it. Open your heart to me and I shall fill it with light. Ask of me and I shall show you the way. . .”
